Veterinary Endoscopy for Minimally Invasive Procedures Endoscopy allows veterinarians to view the inside of an animal's body for diagnostic procedures such as biopsies and for surgeries. Veterinary Endoscopy for Minimally Invasive Procedures offers veterinary endoscopy as a minimally invasive technology addressing a variety of issues in small animal veterinary medicine.  Endoscopy allows the veterinarian to see an animal's internal organs by inserting a long, flexible tube into the body. The tip of the tube contains a video chip and a strobe light, capturing images and sending them to a video monitor.  The endoscope can be inserted into an orifice or incision to closely examine a specific area. For example: GI endoscopy-Enters through the mouth to view the upper gastrointestinal tract; Colonoscopy-Enters the rectum to view the colon; Rhinoscopy-Views the nose and nasal passages;  This procedure allows us to see inside the body and perform surgery with much less damage to muscle and tissue and requiring minimal healing. The veterinarian can also insert instruments through the tube and remove tissue to biopsy for additional diagnostic information.
Important Information for Your Pet's Surgery No food or water after 10pm the night before the surgery Drop off your pet between 7:30am and 8:30am.  Only the surgeon will decide the order in which the procedures will be performed.  Often, that decision isn't made until after all surgical patients have checked in. Please notify us of any medications given 24 hours prior to surgery. We may require an exam and pre-anesthetic blood work, if your pet has not been seen by us recently.
