Katherine Hillebrand, DVM

Dr. Katherine Hillebrand grew up on the North Shore of Chicago and completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Virginia, where she double-majored in biology and music as an opera singer and was a member of the UVA Riding Team. She returned to the Midwest for her veterinary degree from Iowa State University, the first vet school in the United States.

Dr. Hillebrand completed an equine internship at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic in 2008, before switching to companion animal practice back in her home town. Tired of Chicago winters, she moved to sunny LA in 2014. Dr. Hillebrand practiced in West Hollywood for 6 years before coming to SMPMC.

Dr. Hillebrand’s favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is the lifelong bond she develops with her patients and clients. In her free time, Dr. Hillebrand enjoys traveling, music festivals, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks, and spending time with her Bernese Mountain Dog.
